Displays and Bulletin Boards

The Library’s bulletin boards and display areas are available as a community service.  Posters, flyers, announcements, etc. must be submitted to the Director in advance of posting.

The Library posts notices and information, including ticket information for events of cultural, informational, and civic interest.  Preference is given to events held in Bolton.

The Library assumes no responsibility for outdated information or insufficient quantities of handouts.  Agencies leaving materials at the library are responsible for monitoring the condition of their announcements and for supplying the library with revised copy when necessary.

Posters may not exceed 15” x 30”.  Handouts may not exceed 8.5” x 11”.

Notices of a purely commercial nature may not be posted.

The Library does not accept petitions of any kind.

Displays, free literature, and materials on public bulletin boards found noncompliant with this policy will be discarded.

The Library may not be used to display or sell items for organizations other than the Friends of the Bolton Public Library.

The Library staff will not collect money or make change for outside organizations.

Money and supplies such as clothing sale tags may be left in an area dedicated to handouts, etc., provided that a) such items are available on a self-service basis and do not involve the library staff, and b) the sponsoring organization assumes all risk for loss or theft.
